  Just letting you know I passed the exam

  hi, my apostate friends.. a couple of weeks ago i asked for some advice regarding studying methods.

  then some of you asked me to let you know my score after i take the exam at mineralogy.. i scored 90%.

  i'm pretty happy with it because the exams i take are not in my native language.. if i keep up with the good scores i might get a scholarship and then bye bye watchtower society.

  Does It Make You a Hypocrite If You Don't Take Care of Your Own?

  there was a big, huge family with everyone in the truthiness and they were pioneers or elders and just prominent in the limelight, okay, and most everybody knew them in the congs around here.

  they were always everywhere you went, preaching the kingdom, oh brother.

  There was a big, huge family with everyone in the Truthiness and they were pioneers or elders and just prominent in the limelight, okay, and most everybody knew them in the congs around here. They were always everywhere you went, preaching the kingdom, oh brother. You couldn't get away from them without being blatantly RUDE, you know the type? Okay they are all going to be in the new system, that's certain.

  So, being away from the whole dungheap for quite a while, i hadn't heard anything about their doin's, until today. An x-jw we know, volunteering to help the elderly, asks if we know john doe, because he starts witnessing to her. So she knows he's a jw. OH YES, we know him! and his whole family, who have been inviting people to join the WT organization for years, telling them how great it is to have so many friends and how these friends all take care of each other in need.

  They are so busy inviting people to join their miserable organization that they can't pay any attention to their own elderly father.

  The end did come, are we not in our spiritual paradise, are we not? Look at all the bullessings we got goin' on - the international conventions with people following all the directions to make themselves as uncomfortable as humanly possible - doesn't that show God is in control of their lives OH YEAH BABEEZ! You are just murmuring rebels, keep your eyes on the prize, not on all the news reports. Just beeleeve everything WE say! PRAY for paradise, be obedient, SNAP, we're there! Quit saying we're not there, we're there, we're there! PRAY PRAY PRAY, GIVE GIVE GIVE, and shut up.

  Finally learned how to live the REAL real life

  someone suggested i post an introductory thread.

  i am a married, rather young grandma of four precious rugrats, ages 2-9. i guess our only child son and his only child wife didn't want their own kids to be "onlies".

  my other half and i married rather young (18 &22) and will be celebrating 31 years together this summer.. i am sort of add, keep thinking i am still 28, love my husband now more than ever, and am so glad i woke up and left the crazy cult.. my husband and i began studying months after marrying and then decided to take the dunk.

  What Makes A Good Friend?

  i just came back from vacation with my sister who is in her mid 40s and is an active jw, regular pioneer of many years.

  while away, during one of our conversations, it bacame clear to me that my sister is lonely and doesn't have a social life.

  she's too old to be included in the plans of the younger generation and, as she is not married, doesn't get included in the "marrieds" set.

  My friends are here on JWN and then I have two other good friends - my tv and my bed. I also love my cat, my granddaughter and my husband but they really all need me to be nice all the time, even if I don't feel good.

  Seriously, since leaving the jw, many people have treated me kindly and I'm grateful and happy. But there are no girlfriends, so far. The ones in the Cult were just conditional upon me conforming and carrying on the rituals. It took awhile but I don't miss them anymore. I'm envious of that Oprah/Gail friendship - someone to trust and believe that they are honest.

  My husband and I were not born in. We were contacted at our door and swallowed all the bull muffins like hungry pelicans. Zealous for several years, back and forth with it all many times, finally quit all meetings around age 58. Just recently send a dis-a letter so they wouldn't stop by our house anymore.

  Our granddaughter had her first Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas last year, after her mother regained custody. We have something fun to look forward to all the time now.

  Is this new donation arrangement for real?

  just read a post on jwsurvey about the new donation arrangement.

  congregations are to pledge a monthly amount to be sent to the society to fund the building of assembly halls and kingdom halls.

  congregations who already have a loan from the society will no longer have to pay back the loan but the amount pledged should not be less than the current monthly repayments to the society.

  What's funny is that the elders think anyone cares that they are disappointed. You know what, I was disappointed a lot of the time in that stupid cult and the elders didn't give a crap.

  JWs should write on that pledge, "Sorry, all tapped out!"

  so the rc really sucked, but i made it through.

  the propaganda was mind blowing.

  i don't know if the crap will be available on the official website or not, but hopefully it gets leaked somehow.

  Data-Dog! You know you're not wrong! Earning money to live decent is the top priority in this house here. I have never understood all those tv shows and movies where the family lives in a nice house, griping to the husband that he's not home enough of the time. Where do they think all their comforts come from? And when he capitulates, OK, I've been wrong, I'll cut down my working hours --- they never show his credit getting ruined because he can't pay the bills on time!

  But anyway, you gotta relax and just like everyone says here, remind yourself that the zealous guilt-fest will subside after a little while. In the meantime, you have to be a wife-whisperer. And here's how; start by acknowledging her feelings (Yes! that old crap works!):

  "Honey, please don't be upset with me. I'll try to do better. Let's pray together before we go to bed. I'll ask Jehovah to help me keep balanced and not get carried away with worrying about work." "I'm so grateful to have a wife who is aware of spiritual things, not just material things."

  Next, talk about how great it will be in the new system when we can worship Jehovah freely and only live for his sake, and not have to wrestle with the world trying to get enough money to live decent.

  I don't know how old your daughter is but maybe you can make her understand that you're going along to get along and keep peace in the family? And that you love her mom, and you're trying your best to make her happy.

  The key is to drop any resistance. Controllers thrive on resistance. Once they sense the fight is gone out of their victim, they relax and move on to other phases of their daily living. I am positive your wife does not have a clue how she is taking the energy out of you like draining the oil out of a car. When you have to deal with this stuff, try to simultaneously visualize love and peace between you.

  You have helped me a lot, and I appreciate all your posts!

  Drama: Not ONE word has failed! Regional Convention 2014

  looks like the borg spent all it's money on hd panels, gigabit internet connections and ipads cause this is by far the lamest and most stupid drama ever in the history of the org!.

  apart from the worse than porn-without-the-porn acting and dialogue, the special effects consist of square painted panels and a crappy blue screen.

  also the lighting looks like it was made using flashlights.. even the die hards we're laughing at it and mentioned how silly it looked.. i envy all of those that aren't attending this "historic 100-years-since-christ's-reign" convention.. .
